Our Story

CL Medical was involved in the first tension-free sling
Vincent GORIA, the founder of CL Medical works in Industry since 20 years. He is in the medical products industry since the first tension free sling sold in Europe in 1998. During the process of introducing the product in France, he obtained early clinical experience and surgeon feedback on the product’s performance and outcomes. With that information, he developed I-STOP to address the original devices deficits. I-STOP has been clinically validated to have equal or better efficacy in multiple clinical studies (renvoi 1-2) throughout Europe and has quickly become one of the market leaders in France.

CL Medical developed the world’s first transobturator male sling
The first transobturator male sling was described in France in 2004 using I-STOP. With the input of urologists, the original I-STOP was modified and enhanced to suit the male anatomy. The result was I-STOP TOMS (Trans Obturator Male Sling) which has since been featured in several clinical studies proving it a simple, safe and efficacious device for male incontinence (renvoi 3), published on cover of Gold Journal of Urology, february 2012 edition.

CL Medical is based in the U.S
Since setting up offices in Cambridge, MA in 2008, I-STOP has developed a loyal following amongst US surgeons. CL Medical is one of the only European sling companies to have successfully entered the highly competitive U.S market and made significant inroads against industry major companies. Until recently, CL Medical has been maintaining a low profile however recent successes have caught the attention of the current market leader who now views CL as its most formidable competitor.
CL is poised to become a major player in the US incontinence market while preserving an agile, customer-oriented and patient-focused approach.

Vincent has worked for 20 years in Industry and has expertise managing several companies, quality system (ISO and FDA), medical devices design, sales team. He worked for major companies as Sagem ( Electronics and Communication Systems - Paris, France), PTC (Software - Boston, MA) and Johnson & Johnson (Healthcare and Pharmaceutical products - New Brunswick, NJ). Vincent holds an MBA from Business School IFAG - France.

CAROLINE GORIA

Previously, Caroline worked in France with one of the best French law firms specializing in Labor Law, she rendered services as a law consultant to accountant’s customers and teached graduated students all the secrets of French Labor Laws. Caroline holds an MBA from the University of Lyon III in France.
